Saul’s Taverna is conveniently situated on Sea Point’s Main Road, almost directly opposite the
New Kings Hotel. It is a cosy Mediterranean piazza restaurant offering Portuguese, Italian
and Greek cuisine with an African flair.
CEO of The Saul’s Group, Saul Beder, says “It might be a Mediterranean eatery, but it
undoubtedly serves South African-sized portions. We believe in dishing up hearty suppers, as
opposed to dainty dinners. South Africans like big plates of food and they enjoy meals that
will suit their pockets”.
Launched in October 2007, Saul’s Taverna features delicious (and healthy free-range) dishes
such as Kudu Espatadas, Warthog Shanks, Hickory Smoked Pork Loin Ribs and old favourites
including slow-cooked Game Potjies. There is also a fantastic tapas assortment that is
presented to your table on a huge wooden tray followed by an extensive menu elegantly
combining various cuisines of the Mediterranean.
There are various specials on offer on a nightly basis. Walk the bridge between the Middle
East and the Mediterranean every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm to experience the
passion of the infamous belly dancing group Ajsa Samia and Palace of the Winds.
Open daily 10:00am to 12:00pm
